Paletto Lounge, Corby

Paletto Lounge in Corby is one of 'The Lounges': a range of cafe/bars open 9am-late every day selling hot drinks, cakes and food.

The first thing I noticed was how wide the door was! This was a refreshing change from most cafes I've been to where I often struggle to hold the door and squeeze the pram through. There is lots of space between the tables in this cafe and I didn't struggle to find a table with enough space to park up the pram either.

The toilet with the changing facilities is large enough to fit the pram in and contains a changing table with raised edges. I liked these changing facilities as they didn't feel too cramped and are accessible for both mums and dads.

Unfortunately, the highchairs don't have a tray and are completely the wrong height for Millie as she is unable to reach the table. Feeding her was a messy nightmare as I had to hand her the food and then try and catch it as she dropped/threw it! As you can see from the photo below, the table was the perfect height for a head injury so I had to move her away to avoid any bruises! I also had to use our inflatable highchair insert (£6 from Ikea) as Millie is quite slim so needs a little extra support.

Paletto Lounge does a fantastic latte and the food was delicious! They also sell cakes which look lovely but I haven't tried. I'm guessing you all want to know what they're like so, for the purpose of the blog, perhaps I will go back and try some! The staff here are very friendly and helpful. After I ordered my one shot latte, the lady wanted to let me know that there was a decaf version available if I was breastfeeding and didn't want to have lots of caffeine. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I have been bottle-feeding Millie since she was 6 weeks old but I just prefer the taste of a one shot latte!

Overall, I was really happy with how baby-friendly Paletto Lounge is and the only thing stopping it from getting an overall rating of 'very good' is the highchairs. As we are weaning with finger foods, highchairs are a really important part of my trips to cafes and restaurants. However, if you're using purees then I would say this cafe is the perfect choice for you.
