Mini Mischiefs - Children's Indoor Play and Activity Centre, Market Harborough

On a rare day off together mid-week, my husband and I decided to brave the insanity that is soft play! We went to Mini Mischiefs in Market Harborough for the first time. We didn't have to pay as it's free for non-walkers and adults. For walkers the price is £3.95 on weekdays in term time and £4.95 on weekends and school holidays. I'd read reviews about how busy it gets so was braced for absolute chaos but as it was a hot day, it was really quiet.

The first thing I noticed was that there were lots of tables squeezed into the eating area so not huge amounts of space for pushchairs to be near the table when you're eating/drinking. However, there are some sofas which have a little more space surrounding them. There were at least 10 plastic Ikea highchairs - they didn't have a tray but were a good height for the table so Millie was able to easily reach her lunch. The menu includes breakfasts (until 11:30), jacket potatoes, sandwiches, toasties and hot meals like lasagne and burgers. The children can get snack boxes which include five items for £2.95. There's also a choice of fish fingers, sausages or chicken chunks served with either mash, chips, peas, beans or sweetcorn for £3.95 as well as a few other dishes. I ordered a tuna melt and my husband had a fish finger sandwich and we both enjoyed our food. I also had an iced coffee which was an absolute winner!

The soft play for younger children had more items in it compared to other soft play areas I've been to. It had things such as a jumperoo, ball pit, ball blower, slide and tunnel. Millie's favourite was definitely the ball blower. She kept getting her face really close and trying to lick the air - it was really funny and made a great slow mo video! The soft play area for older children looked like even more fun with different levels you can climb to, three slides, a ball pit and an enclosed area for ball games.

As you'd expect, the toilets were really baby/child-friendly. They had three large toilets which included adult toilets, toddler toilets, potties, changing mats and bathroom steps.

They've also got an upstairs area here for parties and baby groups but unfortunately there is no lift access.

I'd read a few harsh reviews of Mini Mischiefs about it being unclean, manic (which soft play centres aren't?!) and staff being rude but we had a really good time and didn't experience any of that. I'd recommend coming here but would suggest calling beforehand to see how busy it is.
