The Pantry, Corby

*The Pantry has now closed*

The Pantry is a relatively new cafe in Corby and is quickly becoming my favourite place to go. The cafe has a wheelchair accessible entrance or there is a small step via the main entrance. I'd advise using the accessible entrance though as it's a bit of squeeze with the pram between the tables if you use the main entrance. The Pantry is only a small cafe so if it's busy, I can imagine it may be quite tricky with the pram. However, there is a large outdoor area so if it's a sunny day, then there's plenty of space outside and the large parasols mean you don't have to worry about the little ones being in the sun. The times I've visited have been quiet so I've had no trouble choosing a table with room for a highchair and I've left the pram next to the Welsh dresser. If it's free, you could sit in the 'catch up corner' where there is plenty of room for prams. I love this area of the cafe as it is so comfy and has books for adults, children's books, toys and a chalkboard for children to play with. The decor at The Pantry is absolutely amazing and you feel as though you are in someone's house. I really love the homely style they've gone for and feel it is really different to the other cafes in and around Corby.
The cafe has two highchairs - you just have to ask. Their highchairs are fantastic as they are wooden but have a tray and are very easy to clean. I think they may eventually need more than two though as every time I have been in there have been at least two other babies/toddlers in there.

Although you place your order at the counter, they bring over your drinks and food so you don't need to worry about the logistics of managing this with a pram/holding the baby. The drinks here are really good and the cookies are THE BEST I have ever tasted. Whilst writing this, I'm considering going there this afternoon just to have another cookie! I haven't yet had anything savoury here as I've been popping in quickly before Rhymetime at the library but it won't be long until I go back for a spot of lunch when I've got a little more time. As it's only been open for around 10 weeks, the menu hasn't yet been finalised and they are trying out different things and seeing what people like. The staff here are so friendly and really happy to have a chat. The atmosphere is so friendly and you notice straight away how lovely the staff are.

There is only one toilet here but the room is big enough to take the pram in but as I said before, it can be a little tricky to manoeuvre between the tables so it's easier to just carry the baby in. They have a Mamas and Papas changing station with a proper changing mat - makes a nice change to see something comfy for the baby.

Although it is small and there aren't huge amounts of tables to choose from with a pram/baby, I absolutely love it here. As long as it isn't too busy, you should be able to find space for the pram and there are seats outside if it's a nice day. The friendly staff, beautiful decor and amazing cookies make this a place to come back to time and time again!
