Chimes Coffee Shop, Hampton

by - March 10, 2018

Folks, I've done it! I've found a fantastic baby/toddler-friendly cafe and the only downside it has is that it's 40 minutes from my house! From the moment I walked in, I couldn't stop smiling!

Chimes Coffee Shop is within the CSK church in Hampton, just behind Tesco Extra, Serpentine Green. The cafe is easily accessible with a front and back entrance and not a step in sight! There is free parking to the back of the cafe. There is plenty of room to bring the pram in if you need to. They have four Ikea highchairs with trays and changing facilities in both the male and female toilets. The changing table is a drop down table with a strap and can be found in the last cubicle. It'd be best to leave the pram in the cafe if you can as you can get it into the toilets but perhaps not into the cubicle itself. I'd just like to add that I didn't go into the male toilets like a weirdo - my husband was with me and was sent on a mission to check out the changing facilities.

The staff here were very friendly and chatty and I even saw a gentleman run over to the front door to help a lady with a walking stick. The cafe is light and airy and the tables have flowers on them which I thought was a nice touch.

I had a look at the food menu and there was a good range of sandwiches, paninis, salads and a children's menu. The prices were very good and I will be coming back soon for lunch. The coffee was lovely (I had two cups!) and I would definitely recommend the red velvet cake.

I've left the best thing until last...there's a play area for pre-school children with a baby gate to keep them penned in! There were lots of books and toys, a play kitchen area, toy garage, building blocks, two bouncer chairs and a soft mat. I was impressed at how clean the toys were and that quite a few of the electronic toys actually worked! Around the edge was a bar area so you can sit and eat/drink and keep an eye on the children at the same time. I was in heaven!!!

If you haven't visited already, you must!
