Greenfield Park Coffee Shop (in the grounds of Noble's hospital)

by - February 25, 2019

Ok, first things first, let's talk about how to find Greenfield Park Coffee Shop as I struggled initially. The cafe can be found in the grounds of Nobles hospital and is easier to find if you enter the grounds from Ballaoates Road (signposted as 'Cedar new adult resource centre site entrance'). If you take the road on your right (opposite Grianagh Court) signposted as 'Estates Directorate', you'll see a farmhouse building which is the cafe and they have free parking outside.

Greenfield Park Cafe is run by adults with learning disabilities and is open Monday-Friday 10:30am-2:30pm. There is also a shop next door selling many lovely handmade items.

Access into the cafe is easy and there is plenty of space between the tables for prams/wheelchairs. The toilet (there's only one) is big, accessible and has a drop-down changing table with a strap. They have four wooden highchairs with straps which are a reasonable height for the tables. The cafe is quite small with six tables and a sofa area. They do ask you to reserve a table if you're coming in for lunch as it's only a small cafe.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and make everyone feel welcome. The food and drinks are really good and everything is very reasonably priced. The menu contains items such as sandwiches (£2.50), soup (£3), jacket potatoes (from £3) and toasties (£3) and although there isn't a children's menu as such, at those prices, I'm more than happy to get Millie a sandwich or a toastie and take home what she doesn't manage to eat (or eat it myself!).

Greenfield Park Cafe even have a small selection of children's books to keep them entertained which was a nice surprise. We had a lovely time here and it's definitely somewhere we'll be coming back to.
